Sasha Barry Jewellery was founded in May 2012. Our website may be new, but we are not new to jewellery. In one form or another, we've been selling jewellery for over ten years, online as well as offline.
Why start up online now, in the middle of a recession?
The state of fashion jewellery and fashion accessories in Ireland is nothing short of disheartening. Budget shops sell what could charitably be described as jewellery, but the word fashion does not belong in the same sentence.
Other retailers such as independent boutiques and chain stores from the UK do sell fashion jewellery, but only in a small way. They each have a single display cabinet, from which a half dozen respectable necklaces or bracelets might be found, but the selection is so small and it changes so seldom that only a fraction of tastes are catered for.
Ireland needs a good, mid-priced jewellery retailer. Fashion conscious Irish women should to be able to buy jewellery that they would not be embarrassed to wear, and they should have a decent, contemporary selection to choose from.
Our aim is to provide affordable fashion jewellery to fashion conscious Irish women. And unlike many of our traditional competitors, we plan to offer new styles and designs every one or two weeks.
